Mitch is a government relations and strategic communications professional with more than a decade of experience advising senior decision makers across Australia and New Zealand.
His work has focused on helping governments communicate complex policy decisions clearly and credibly. He translates technical issues into practical advice that supports effective decision-making and public understanding, while managing stakeholder relationships and politically sensitive environments.
His previous roles have included advising on the development, implementation, and public communication of major reforms across housing, energy, and climate policy, as well as contributing to several state and national budgets.
Mitch has worked closely with ministers, government departments, and industry stakeholders to support policy and project delivery and to manage emerging issues in fast-moving and politically sensitive contexts.
Before joining SEC Newgate, Mitch was a senior adviser to the Premier of Victoria, Jacinta Allan. He has also advised senior government leaders in New Zealand, including former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and former Minister of Energy and Resources Dr Megan Woods, working on priorities spanning economic growth, housing and infrastructure, and the energy transition.
Mitch holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science and International Relations) and a Master of Political Science from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
